One of the worse parts of the job- making excess DKs stock unsellable. (We have more as archival copies, but they will never be sold or available to the public)

The official bloggy outpost of Alternative Tentacles Records. Alternative Tentacles Records was established in June of 1979. Although it is perceived by many as a "punk" label, having released records by Dead Kennedys and others, it is actually best known for its impact on the world of underground culture. The label is also well known due to its outspoken provocateur owner, talent scout and recording artist, Jello Biafra.
Hook me up with Bedtime For Democracy, it's the only DK album I'm missing. I won't sell it or profit in anyway!
ReplyDeleteSorry, no can do. There's a ton of the Alternative Tentacles version of that record out in the world- check the local used bins & gemm.com for a copy.
ReplyDeleteRock on!

ReplyDeletei don't get it, why not just give 'em away with orders or in contests? who cares if people sell them, you can't profit off 'em anyway? or hell, give 'em to the charities on the skate tour thing to sell for a couple bucks and they can raise money for a good cause that way. just seems sucky to destroy all that product...
ReplyDeleteYou could archive them and then give them out or auction them 70 years after the death of the copyright holders.
